The advertising tagline in Japan was “Car next door looks small.” The model started with a wide variation of 14 sedan types with 2 doors / 4 doors, 4 coupe types of 2 doors, and 4 types of van. The 4-door sedan had the maximum room space in the class and was especially popular among many people as the hallmark of Sunny.
